RDIF and the Kaluga region sign cooperation agreement

Moscow, February 12, 2014 - The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and the Government of the Kaluga region today signed an agreement to begin working together to foster investment activity and attract foreign investment into regional projects. The agreement is a product of the Centre to attract investment in Russian regions established by RDIF in December 2013 and was signed by the Governor of the Kaluga region, Anatoly Artamonov, and CEO of RDIF, Kirill Dmitriev.
 
Under the agreement, the parties will offer advice, information and legal support to regional investment projects to help create an attractive investment climate in the Kaluga region. In turn, RDIF will support the region in attracting leading international investors.
 
RDIF has signed a number of cooperation agreements with several other Russian regions, including the Republics of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan, Primorsky and Krasnoyarsk Territories among others.
 
Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of RDIF, said:
"The Kaluga region is an excellent example of how progress to improve the investment climate in the Russian regions is being made. Over the past ten years the volume of FDI into the region has increased by forty times –eight times faster than in Russia at large. The professionalism of local administration and the qualities of the business environment in Kaluga give us confidence that this trend will continue.”
