Morocco approves Russia's Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine - Russian Industry and Trade Ministry
MOSCOW. March 10 (Interfax) - Morocco has approved Russia's Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine, the Russian Industry and Trade Ministry said on Wednesday.
"Russia's Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine has received an emergency use authorization in Morocco. This decision was announced by Health Minister Khalid Ait Taleb of the Kingdom of Morocco during negotiations with the RDIF [Russian Direct Investment Fund] administration," the ministry said.
"The parties have started procedures to agree upon a contract," it said.
"Taking into account the Kingdom's role among the countries of the African continent, longstanding partnership with Morocco may be instrumental in arranging supplies of Russia's Sputnik V vaccine to other African countries," it said.
RDIFhas also confirmed the vaccine's approval in Morocco.
