RDIF and leading international partners share experience and develop tools to combat COVID-19

Moscow, April 30, 2020 – The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), Russia’s sovereign wealth fund, has held a video conference with partners from major foreign sovereign wealth funds and investment institutions to discuss further global efforts to fight coronavirus.

More than 20 investors with over $8 tn of assets under management from Brazil, China, France, India, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Oman, Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand, the UAE and the USA participated in the conference.

Participants discussed investments in existing and promising technologies as well as in companies that will help defeat the virus. They also touched on the topic of strategies and efforts undertaken at a national level. Countries whose representatives took part in the call, have already gained significant experience in combating coronavirus and sharing that knowledge is crucial in times of pandemic.

As a result of the video conference, RDIF and partners agreed to jointly identify and implement investment, production and other opportunities to quickly overcome the negative effects of the virus and resume economic activity. The parties also intend to intensify efforts to exchange international best practices and technologies to combat COVID-19.

Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, said:

The Fund and its partners are consistently expanding their joint efforts to more quickly and efficiently find solutions to the problem. Today, a productive exchange of information and unique experience in the fight against the virus took place, we discussed further coordination of joint actions and promising projects that will help bring victory over it closer.
