MOSCOW, Mar 27 (PRIME) -- The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) plans to present an automatic testing system making more than 5,000 tests on COVID-19 per day in about a month, CEO Kirill Dmitriev told PRIME in an interview published on Friday.
"The third solution is a machine which we will have, a huge automatic testing system. It will make more than 5,000 tests per day. Such a system will be commissioned in four weeks. It will appear in Russia, we will offer it to the foreign markets as well," Dmitriev said.
The RDIF will invest in the companies producing antiseptics and pharmaceutical products and is in negotiations with the largest companies in the sphere. "There are also several proposals to build new plants, automatic lines, and start production," Dmitriev said.
The RDIF and the government of Moscow are discussing the application of cameras with facial recognition tools for remote body temperature check. The RDIF is also analyzing investment in artificial intelligence systems identifying the coronavirus-caused pneumonia cases.
Last week the RDIF, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Yandex and Mail.ru Group established an alliance to promote testing for the COVID-19. The RDIF said that a test produced by a Russian–Japanese joint venture Medpromresurs was approved for use.
Dmitriev separately said that the RDIF agreed with Saudi Arabia on independence of investment projects from the situation on energy markets.
