RDIF mulls projects in Mongolia with Russian Railways, Rosseti, Gazprom
The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) is considering joint projects with Russian Railways, Russian power company Rosseti and gas giant Gazprom in Mongolia, head of the fund Kirill Dmitriev told reporters.
Earlier, Russia and Mongolia agreed to create a joint fund for investment cooperation. The fund’s first projects will imply investments in the transport infrastructure of Mongolia, Dmitriev noted.
"We are intensively studying and hoping to finance Russian Railways projects in Mongolia. We are discussing a number of joint projects with Rosseti and we see that Rosseti can provide a very important impetus for the development of the electric power system and infrastructure in Mongolia," the head of the RDIF said.
He also mentioned possible joint projects with Gazprom, which could also be implemented in Mongolia.
"This fund (a joint fund of the Russian Federation and Mongolia - TASS) will significantly increase the quality and number of joint projects," Dmitriev added.
