Russia sovereign wealth fund seeks foreign investors to airport upgrade

Sept 12 (Reuters) - Russia's RDIF sovereign wealth fund said on Wednesday:

* RDIF and the Far East Development Fund will attract foreign investors to the upgrade of Russia's far eastern Khabarovsk airport;

* A number of foreign investors, with whom the both funds already interact, have expressed interest in the project;

* The modernisation of the largest air hub in Russia's far east is estimated at 17 billion roubles ($244 million);

* The construction of a new passenger terminal for domestic airlines will began in 2018. The cost of the project is 5 billion roubles;

* The second stage of the development program, which will exceed 12 billion roubles in investment, involves construction of a new international terminal, cargo terminal and commercial zone in 2018-2025. ($1 = 69.6915 roubles) (Reporting by Moscow Newsroom, editing by Louise Heavens)
