Press release, 15.09.2016

Moscow, 15 September, 2016- The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and the Federal Corporation for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME Corporation) have signed an agreement on the provision of collateral for investment projects. Under the agreement, RDIF will be able to obtain guarantees of the SME Corporation for investments it undertakes jointly with its partners. The financial guarantees will significantly enhance the Fund’s ability to structure its investment projects and improve the effectiveness of their implementation.

Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), said:

"In a short period of time, SME Corporation has grown to become an institution that provides efficient support to small and medium-sized businesses. By combining forces, RDIF and SME Corporation will be able to provide additional opportunities for Russian entrepreneurs to realize their business initiatives and enhance cooperation with foreign partners. "

Alexander Braverman, CEO of the SME Corporation, said:

"Collaboration between SME Corporation and RDIF in implementing key financial support mechanisms will increase a number of successful projects carried out by SMEs. Such approach is particularly important for strengthening the industrial and technological base of companies with high export potential. Ensuring efficient financial, administrative and communications support for export-oriented companies and investment projects in the non-natural resources sector is high on our priority list for the near future.”

The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) was established in 2011 to make equity investments alongside leading international financial and strategic investors, primarily in Russia. The fund acts as catalyst for direct investment in Russia’s economy. Additional information can be found at:
