Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of RDIF, discusses further investment cooperation with the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani
Moscow, January 19, 2016– CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev met with the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who had been invited to Russia by President Vladimir Putin. During the meeting, the parties discussed joint work between RDIF and Qatar Investment Authority (QIA).
RDIF is actively increasing cooperation with QIA. In 2014, RDIF and QIA established a partnership for joint investment in projects worth up to US$2bn in Russia. Part of these funds has been allocated to RDIF projects through an automatic co-investment mechanism.
RDIF and QIA have already invested in a number of joint projects, which already exceed the total trade turnover between Russia and Qatar in value. The two parties are currently reviewing a number of new opportunities together. The areas of priority are infrastructure, agriculture, telecommunications and healthcare.
