NEW DELHI, Sep 2 (PRIME) -- The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) has signed an agreement with Indian companies for production of 300 million doses of the Sputnik V vaccine for the coronavirus per year, CEO Kirill Dmitriev said on Wednesday, as reported by channel NDTV.
"The Indian experts saw what the Russian vaccine can do. We have signed a production agreement with Indian companies to make more than 300 million doses of the Russian vaccine per year," Dmitriev said.
The Healthcare Ministry registered the world’s first coronavirus vaccine on August 11. At first, the Gamaleya institute and pharmaceutical company Binnopharm will produce the vaccine, and R-Pharm and Generium will soon join them. Multi-industry holding Sistema said that Binnopharm’s capacities allow it to produce 1.5 million doses of the vaccine per year, and that it planned to start mass production until the end of 2020.
