RDIF to partner with Swiss building materials producer LafargeHolcim
Moscow, October 21, 2019 - The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), Russia’s sovereign wealth fund, announces a cooperation agreement with the Swiss company LafargeHolcim – the global leader in building materials and solutions.
The announcement was made today on the sidelines of the Foreign Investment Advisory Council (FIAC).
The partners intend to jointly identify attractive investment projects in the Russian cement and concrete production sector and related fields. The company operates four cement plants in Russia, with sites in the Moscow, Kaluga and Saratov regions, it also has three non-metallic mineral quarries in the Republic of Karelia. LafargeHolcim products are used in infrastructure construction, the production of commercial concrete, concrete products and lightweight concrete products.
Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), said:
“Active housing and infrastructure construction in Russia requires the application of advanced technologies and specialized expertise. RDIF and LafargeHolcim plan to focus on supporting market growth, as well as on the construction of facilities that will meet all international standards of quality, sustainability and energy efficiency”.
