Prime, 22.02.2017

MOSCOW, Feb 22 (PRIME) -- Singapore’s Changi Airports International (CAI), the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and multi-industry holding Basic Element (BasEl) have closed a deal to buy the Knevichi airport in the city of Vladivostok from Sheremetyevo International Airport, the companies said in a joint statement on Wednesday.

“The consortium started managing the airport,” the statement said.

CAI, RDIF, and BasEl have equal participation in the consortium.

The consortium plans to raise passenger traffic through the airport to 5 million people in the medium terms from 2 million people expected in 2017.

The consortium won a tender to buy the airport in February 2015. A source at the consortium said then that the deal was estimated at around 6 billion rubles and should be financed by participants in equal parts.
